The use of everything from end products to individual components in railway technology places the highest demands on the safety of railway customers and personnel along the entire manufacturing chain. The greatest threat, apart from the heat generated, is the smoke and the associated toxic gases in a burning train. In order to detect and assess a possible hazard potential at an early stage, it is necessary to follow the rules of the European fire protection standard according to EN 45545 in rail vehicles.

Lagra Systemtechnik knows the requirements of the railway industry very well and, in addition to knowledge of how to deal with the standard, also offers suitable materials and support in the selection and approval of the necessary components. In this way, we accompany our customers on their way to more safety in rail transport with competent advice.

The current railway standard EN 45545 describes the fire protection requirements of all materials used in railway vehicle construction, both indoors and outdoors, in a uniform manner throughout Europe. The requirements for the fire behaviour of such materials and components are particularly strict in this environment.

Lagra's product range includes corrugated tubes made of PA6 and PA12, the corresponding corrugated tube fittings including accessories, as well as metal hoses and matching conduit fittings, plus cable glands with accessories.

Wherever flammable substances such as gases, mists, vapours or dusts are present in ignitable concentrations, there is a risk of explosion. Lagra High Temperature hoses and tapes have been developed for use in environments where temperature protection is mandatory.
A lack of heat protection can have catastrophic effects if equipment is damaged in this way, resulting in failures or faults. Especially as protection against welding spatter in welding plants or for foundry applications, high-temperature hoses are essential for protecting plant components.

The strict approval regulations for materials in shipbuilding and the durability of the products are our top priority. Our sophisticated products have been specially developed for the shipbuilding industry and comply with all approvals (DNV - RINA).

UL has developed more than 1,300 safety standards. A typical standard for electrical products covers not only electrical safety requirements, but also a wide range of flammability and mechanical hazards. UL tests the organisation of products, components, materials and systems to see if they meet specific requirements. UL certification thus enables the export of products to the USA.

CSA stands for "Canadian Standards Association" and is an independent, non-governmental organisation for product testing and certification. In accordance with the regulations of the us Occupational Safety and Health Administration, CSA is a qualified alternative to UL certification and thus also enables the export of products to the USA. CSA-certified products are also characterised by high product quality.
